Lane closures ahead at busy Routes 49-825 ramp

On the Route 49 ramp to Route 825 over Route 49, motorists this week will encounter lane closures in both directions due to bridge inspection, according to the weekly roadwork report for the Mohawk Valley region of the New York state Department of Transportation.

Other detours and closures for the week of Aug. 12:

Rome, Route 233 bridge over Wheeler Creek: Motorists will encounter a lane shift with all work being performed behind barrier.

Rome, Route 49 west bound ramp to Route 233: Motorists will encounter a full ramp closure with a signed detour in place due to bridge rehabilitation.

Oneida County

Utica, Route 5S between Cornelia Street and Broad Street: Paving operations will be on Hotel Street, Washington Street, and Whitesboro Street. Construction and utility relocation work continues to take place throughout the corridor. Highway lighting removal on 5S between Cornelia Street and John Street. The parking lane on Genesee Street south bound in the area of Franklin Square will be closed to traffic due to manhole work. There will be various lane closures on both Washington Street and Broadway for drainage installation. They will not be closed at the same time. Jay Street will remain closed from Genesee Street to Second Street. Burnet Street and First Street also remain closed at Jay Street. The Jay Street slip ramp to Second St. remains closed.

Utica, Route 5A between Route 12 and Whitesboro Street: Motorists will encounter a new traffic pattern between Whitesboro Street and Oriskany Street West. The east bound traffic lanes will be closed. East bound traffic will be routed to the west bound passing lane with west bound traffic utilizing the driving lane. Pavement markings will be placed to accommodate the new traffic pattern. Flaggers and delays may be encountered. Jason Street and Platt Street will remain open. Speed limit reduction to 30 mph in the work zone.

Utica, Route 5-8-12 north bound bridge over Sauquoit Creek: Motorists will encounter north bound lane closures due to bridge inspection.

Marcy, River Street over the Barge Canal: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Marcy, Mohawk Street bridge over the Barge Canal: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Marcy, Mohawk Street bridge over the Mohawk River: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.

Marcy, pedestrian bridge over Route 49: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions on Route 49 due to bridge inspection.

Marcy, Route 49 between Route 825 and River Street: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to guiderail installation.

Marcy, Route 291 between Route 69 and Old River Road: Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions due to culvert work.

Marcy, Route 49 between River Street and Route 12: Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions due to culvert work.

Village of Camden, Town of Florence: Route 13 between Mill Street and the Oswego County line. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to guiderail installation.

Boonville, Route 12 between Route 28 and the Lewis County line: Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to roadside drainage.

Remsen, Route 12 south bound between Old Stage Road and E. Steuben Road: Motorists will encounter a south bound lane closure due to roadwork.

Prospect, Route 365 at State Street: There will be no impact to traffic due to signal work.

Augusta, Route 26 at Knoxboro Road: Motorists will encounter lane closures in all directions with flaggers in place due to signal work.

Sangerfield, Route 12 between Route 20 and Craigfoot Road: Motorists may encounter a north bound shoulder closure due to work on the permanent message board, pending electrical service connection and general site cleanup.

Sangerfield, Route 20 between Route 12 and Newbery Road: Motorists may encounter an east bound lane and shoulder closure due to work on the permanent message board and the installation of solar panels.

Madison County

Hamilton, Route 12B at College Street: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to utility relocation under the 12B north and South bound lanes.

Lenox, Route 13 at Pine Ridge Road: Motorists may encounter a short term lane closure on Route 13 with flaggers in place sue to general site clean up work.

Herkimer County

Ilion, Route 51 bridge between Route 5 and Route 5S: Bridge is closed. Motorists will encounter signed detours. Northbound travel on Route 51 will be detoured to Route 5S east just prior to the bridge. South bound travel will detoured to Herkimer to Route 5S west.

Frankfort, Ilion, Schuyler, Dyke Road, Southside Road, Acme Road, Main Street: Motorists will encounter lane closures in all directions with flaggers in place due to signs, seeding and topsoil.

Little Falls, Danube, Route 5S between Route 167 and the Montgomery County line: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions in multiple locations with flaggers in place due to roadside ditching and drainage as well as median work at the Route 167- Route 5S intersection.

Ohio, Route 8 bridge over the West Canada Creek: Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to bridge inspection.
