Kirkland library announces Little Free Art Gallery

CLINTON — Kirkland Town Library, 55 1/2 College St., is featuring art pieces contributed by community members, as well as visitors, artists and hobbyists — adults and children — called the KTL Little Free Art Gallery.

Displays change regularly as people drop off their creations so patrons never know what they’ll find in the micro 3-by-3 gallery.

Library staff encourage neighbors to come by to see art, take what they like, or leave a small piece to share with others. Free art supplies are available in the “basement” of the Art Gallery. However, gallery furnishings and easels should remain. Enter by climbing the stairs at the main entrance to the library. Also at KTL:

Finding Beauty Photography Contest

Submit a photo that shows how you found beauty this winter. The entry should be your own original work. The library will share them all and allow patrons to vote for their favorite. Deadline to enter is Friday, March 18. Visit www.kirklandtownlibrary.org for the entry form and to upload your photo.

Utica Art Association Member Show

On view now through March 30. Meet the artists on Wednesday, March 9 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The Utica Art Association presents its annual member show. See a variety of works and subjects by 12 members of the association. Many of the works are for sale.

Art Club

Wednesdays in March 4-5 p.m. Elementary school-aged children are invited to make art after school. The library will feature a variety of projects using different materials. Visit www.kirklandtownlibrary.org to register.

Tween Book Club

Tuesday, March 22 from 6-7 p.m. A book club just for kids aged 8-12. Join to discuss, “Willodeen,” by Katherine Applegate, a “timely and timeless tale about our fragile earth, and one girl’s fierce determination to make a difference.” Sign up now to get a copy of the book.
