CLINTON — Kirkland Art Center, 9 1/2 E. Park Row, will host an artist reception for a new exhibit featuring works by Penny Santy of Syracuse University and Craig Hill of Rhode Island School of Design from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 7.
The opening reception is free.
Hill uses random every-day objects, drawing from their history to create images of modern urban life. Santy focuses on the relationship between light, color and mark making.
“My work explores the strength, energy and connections in nature,” Santy said. “I experiment with how color alters our perception and can imply certain place, things or experiences without spelling it out with representation.”
There will be another opening reception for artists Jared Ragland, Pamela Crockett and Stephanie Garon on April 28.
