Kelberman Center to host Business After Hours event


UTICA — The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce will hold its February Business After Hours at the Kelberman Center’s new residential neighborhood the Link at Hage House, 2513 Sunset Ave., on Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.   

The Kelberman Center provides autism services for children, adults and families in the Mohawk Valley and Central New York. The agency offers programs and services for people throughout all phases of life, from early childhood through adulthood, including: Home and community based programs, educational, clinical, residential and recreational offerings along with camp.

With 400 full- and part-time staff who facilitate multiple programs and provide services to 1,000 children and adults annually, the organization serves residents throughout Oneida, Herkimer, Madison, Lewis, Cayuga and Onondaga counties.

The Link is a community-centered, inclusive residential neighborhood that connects people of all abilities through a living environment that promotes meaningful interactions and opportunities for independence, according to officials with the Kelberman Center. The Link offers 60 apartments, including one- and two-bedroom units. A wing of the ground floor is also home to Kelberman Center administrative staff offices, meeting spaces and other areas such as a fitness center, lounges and community room.

Through a supportive environment and enriching on-site activities, The Link offers people of all abilities a greater quality of life, encouraging independence and fostering community-based relationships.
