ROME — Keaton & Lloyd Bookshop, 236 W. Dominick St., held two special events on Saturday — a journal making workshop and author talk.

At the artistic program, cats Carl LaFong and Hoagy Catmichael, along with bookshop clerk Alyzza, presented a creative journal-making session with decorative papers, tape, stickers and other mixed media items.

Then author Barbara Linsley, of North Brookfield, gave a talk and presentation on her new book, "Travel with the Aunts." Linsley taught elementary school for 33 years. Today, she is the author of five books. Her latest, "Travel with the Aunts," is a feel-good, on-the-road novel rife with intrigue and adventure.

Copies of the book as well as others she's written, including "I Can Help on the Farm" and "My Life in Days," were available for purchase and signing.
