Joseph John “Jughead” Matt, born July 8, 1981, died unexpectedly September 11, 2020. He was the son and stepson of April Matt, Freddy Santiago and Edward Matt.
Joseph did a lot of things in his short life, but nothing gave him more pleasure than spending time with his family, going camping, wrestling and eating his mom’s homemade cooking.
He is survived by his mother, April Matt; stepfather, Freddy Santiago; father, Edward Matt; son, Dominick Thompson; three brothers, David Matt, Travis Dyer who was his rock, and Taner Murabito; three sisters, Sarah Matt, Tristan Dyer and Stacey Gannon; three grandmothers, Gloria Patterson-Lyndaker, Jean Worden and Lillian Santiago; very special nephews, Brayden and Dayton Dyer, whom called him “Juggernuts”; a very special niece, Amber Dyer; his Ma, Tina Parsons; very special friends, Thomas Murabito and Marie Gannon; many aunts and uncles; Godparents, Robert and Margaret Hall; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, William Patterson; grandfather, William Worden; uncle Bernard “Joe” Matt; and brother, Josh Gannon.
Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Wednesday, September 16, from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Joe’s memory to Addiction and Suicide Prevention. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home at one time.
