John ‘Dallas’ Snyder


John “Dallas” Snyder, 79, lifelong resident of Camden, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Oneida Healthcare Center Extended Care Facility in Oneida, NY. He was born on July 18, 1939 in Camden, NY a son of John and Cynthanette “Cynthia” “Nette” Greene Snyder. While attending Camden High School class of 1958 Dallas served as the President of the National Future Farmers of America Organization. On May 17, 1958 he received the Empire Farmer Award the highest state honor for the FFA. Dallas, since the age of seventeen until the late 1990’s worked and managed the Snyder’s family farm. He was a forty plus year member of the Camden Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed bowling.

Dallas is survived by two sisters, Linda Martino, Camden, NY and Brooke Stilitner, Eagle River, AK; one brother, Todd Snyder, Turin, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; one aunt, Betty Walter, Massillon, OH; one uncle, Francis Green, Friendship, NY; and his special canine companion of twelve years, Denali.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., 109 Main Street, Camden, NY. Interment Forest Park Cemetery, Camden, NY. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Camden Volunteer Fire Department, 14 Church Street, Camden, NY 13316.
