Jervis library announces summer reading program
ROME — Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., will kick-off their summer reading program on the lawn on June 27 between noon and 2 p.m.
Stop by to sign up for summer reading and make some ocean art using squirt guns. This program is open to all ages. All art products are washable, but wearing clothes that are okay to get wet and/or dirty is encouraged. In the event of poor weather, the event will be moved indoors to create art at the children’s room tables, with limited seating available.
Young readers can sign up for the “Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief” book club and borrow the book while they are at the library.
Any child or teen who reads “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan this summer is welcome to attend a wrap up party on July 27 at 5 to 6 p.m. There will be blue food, craft projects and fun games related to the book. The event will be held on the library lawn and will move indoors in the event of rain. Children under the age of 10 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
The following is the schedule of Jervis’ summer events for children. For events taking pace on the library’s lawn, attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair as the grass is often damp. In the event of poor weather, events will move indoors. Starred programs require registration. Call the library at 315-336-4570 or stop by to sign up.
