Jervis lauds victors in board game tourney

Jervis Library is announcing the winners in its first Two-Player Board Game Tournament, held from January to March.

Mark Levine of Clinton was named champion, with Zeb Swinney of Rome in placing second and Brayden Hollis of Rome in third.

In the title match on March 19, during the library’s Unplug and Play program. Levine defeated Swinney in a game of “Qwirkle.” In the consolation match for third place, Hollis bested his opponent in a game of “Santorini.” The winners were awarded gift certificates to Cloud Giant game store in New Hartford.

Unplug and Play is a program at jervis featuring board and card games for players age 8 and up. Regular meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month with additional sessions held on occasional Saturdays.

The group meets in the public library’s
auditorium.
