ROME — Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., will offer a free Social Security Information program on Wednesday, April 26, at 6 p.m. The program, geared toward individuals who are 55-70 years old, is open to the public and free to attend.
Seating is limited and advance registration is required.
This one-hour financial education program, presented by John Kalil, a Social Security claiming strategist and the president of Retirement Solutions, is designed to help attendees learn how to maximize their Social Security benefits prior to collecting them.
During the program, Kalil will answer some of the most frequently asked questions such as:
- When is the best time to collect my Social Security benefits?
- Does it make sense to take benefits sooner rather than later?
- Can I still work and collect benefits?
- What happens to my benefits if I die ?
- Is my spouse able to collect benefits while working?
