Jervis hosts snow science, charcoal drawing workshops

ROME — Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., has announced the following events for next week:
- All week: children’s Winter Coloring Contest; adult Winter Reading Challenge.
- Monday, Jan. 9, free children’s Craft Kits available; 10 a.m., Tai Chi class; 4 p.m., Maker Monday, teen program; 5:30 p.m., Drop-in Digital Literacy Assistance with Literacy CNY volunteer.
- Tuesday, Jan. 10, 5 p.m., Mahjong for Beginners.
- Wednesday, Jan. 11, 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Story Time with Ms. Emily; 5:30 p.m., Adult Financial Education program.*
- Thursday, Jan. 12, noon, Mid-Day Mystery Book Discussion — “The Lost Girls of Willowbrook” by Ellen Marie Wiseman; 5 p.m., Snow Science, children’s event; 5:30 p.m., Join us for an introductory class to drawing with charcoal taught by E98 Art Studio — Instructor Steve will teach the beginning basics of shading and highlighting, open to all ages.*
- Friday, Jan. 13, 3 p.m., Free Play Friday, for teens.
- Saturday, Jan. 14, 10:30 a.m., Crochet and Knitting Group.
Registration is required for programs.
The library is open 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
