WEST TURIN — A Lewis County woman was charged after law enforcement officials said she lied about being a sheriff’s deputy during a text message argument.
Investigators said Stacey R. Dixon, 34, of Port Leyden, was harassing another woman via text message at about 5:54 p.m. Feb. 10. During the exchange, authorities said Dixon lied to the woman and told her that she was a sheriff’s deputy, and told the woman needed to stop texting Dixon.
Dixon was charged with one count of first-degree criminal impersonation, a class E felony, authorities said. She was arraigned in court and was released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to reappear in court.
