MARCY — The annual Oneida County Farm Fest 2023, a blend of agriculture, education and fun, is back. The family-oriented event is co-sponsored by the Oneida County Farm Bureau and will present a variety of agricultural displays and activities.

The family-owned DiNitto Farms at 6585 Benton Road will host Farm Fest for the eighth time Friday, June 2, from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Local farmers will be on hand to answer questions from non-farmers about agriculture and where their food really comes from.

“Farm Fest is a chance to ask questions about where your food comes instead of searching on the internet,” said Farm Fest organizer Terri DiNitto. “Nobody knows better than a farmer.”

The evening event will be full of farm-related attractions, including a life-size, interactive milking cow. The cow, which will be given a name at the event, will provide the non-farming community with a glimpse into the life of a dairy farmer.

“It’s a great opportunity for the public to interact with a cow,” said Karen Howard, member of the Oneida County Farm Bureau.

In addition to live cow milking, Farm Fest will feature hay and pony rides, farm tours and animals including alpacas and pigs. Food will be available for purchase, and organizers ask for a $5 parking donation.
