WHITESTOWN — A 48-year-old inmate at the county jail is facing new charges after law enforcers said he broke a window on a cell door.
Sheriff’s deputies said Eric D. Coughlin, 48, of Whitesboro, used a cane to damage a glass window on a cell door at the jail on May 30.
Following an investigation, authorities said Coughlin was charged on Monday with one count of third-degree mischief. He is scheduled to appear in Town Court.
According to jail records, Coughlin has been in lockup since May 9 on charges of burglary and assault.
