Inlet to host 29th annual Fall Festival

INLET — The 29th annual Inlet Fall Festival is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at Fern Park on South Shore Road.

Entertainment

Musical entertainment will be provided by Shaded Grass Bluegrass on Saturday, playing three one-hour sets at 10:15 a.m., 12:30 and 2:45 p.m. Shaded Grass was formed by a group of friends on a camping trip in the Adirondacks in 2017 and play traditional bluegrass along with folk, country and rock in bluegrass style.

Simple Props will perform two one-hour sets on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. With two decades of playing the greatest classic rock, ‘80s, ‘90s and current, Simple Props is one of the most experienced and popular bands in the Mohawk Valley and Central New York region.

Saturday’s entertainer will be Stephen Gratto and his sons performing at 11:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Gratto’s performances are said to be fast-paced and exciting displays of many classic vaudeville and circus skills including juggling, unicycling, rope walking and object balancing.

Sunday’s entertainer will be Victor Walter at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Walter is a mime and balloon artist. His shows include a variety of formal and informal pieces, balloon art and audience participation. His mime segments include several mime activities including a piece using bird puppets.

Bumble Dee will offer free face painting and Victor the Clown will be twisting balloons both Saturday and Sunday.

Dining

Charbel will be there with Arabic food (gryos, fried dough, salt potatoes) and there will also be food from North Country Market (smoked beef brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, pulled pork nachos, chicken fingers, fries, cheese fries) and Main Meats (Dino’s sausage, Philly cheesesteaks, steak, quesadillas, chili cheese dogs, hamburgs, hot dogs,
garlic fried potatoes.)

Screamen Eagle is bringing back the beer tent, which will have tables and a game of cornhole set up.

Shopping

There will be many vendors and local residents selling maple syrup, home décor, clothing, jewelry, fine art, soaps, lotions, homemade jams and jellies, and gifts.

Local organizations will be raffling off various items. The American Legion Post #1402 will have a booth where they will raffle off a YETI cooler. CAP-21 will be selling Old Forge Farmers Market Cookbooks. The Inlet Historical Society will be selling raffle tickets for an electric bike to be raffled off during Adirondack Kids Day on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Parking

Free parking at Fern Park is limited. Additional free parking will be available at Arrowhead Park and the lot in front of The Woods Inn. A free shuttle bus is anticipated to be available.
