Illegal stun gun seized in Rome traffic stop
ROME — A 40-year-old man was found with an illegal stun gun during a traffic stop in Rome on Monday, according to the Rome Police Department.
Police said Jerett F. Mignot, of Taberg, was pulled over on West Thomas Street at about 3:30 p.m. Monday. Police said they saw what appeared to be a firearm between the driver's seat and the driver side door.
Upon closer inspection, police said the weapon was an electronic stun gun.
Mignot is charged with one count of fourth-degree possession of a weapon, police stated. He is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
