FRANKFORT — Frankfort-Schuyler senior Ajla Ikeljic will travel to Zenica, Bosnia, on Monday, having been recruited to participate in the Bosnian National Team soccer camp.

Ikeljic has been playing soccer since she was five years old. Her soccer career began with the Coliseum Little Kickers and Frankfort AYSO. She later joined the United Elite Krajisnik FC Turbo girls team, which she still plays for today. In eighth grade, she joined the Olympic Development Program in Albany and later joined the National Center of Excellence in Poughkeepsie. In addition to her club participation, Ikeljic was a member of the Frankfort-Schuyler varsity girls soccer team, which she credits for helping her to get back into the game after an injury.

She credits her success to Frankfort coach Morgan Rae Steere, club coach Anel Pajazetovic, fitness instructor Dawson Green and her parents.

After high school, Ikeljic plans to continue playing with the club, play soccer in college and is working for an invitation to play for the Bosnian National Team.
