Icy conditions contribute to accident

WESTMORELAND — Icy road conditions contributed to a crash at the intersection of Lowell and Skinner roads Friday morning.

Deputy Daniel Walts said Giovana Annatone, 38, of Clinton, was driving a Toyota Camry westbound on Lowell when due to the slippery roads, as well as unsafe speed, her vehicle crossed the hazard markings in the roadway and struck a tree on the north shoulder at 8:10 a.m.

Annatone was transported by COCVAC Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, for head pain.

Westmoreland Fire Department assisted.
