NEW HARTFORD — The bereavement staff at Hospice & Palliative Care will conduct a series of virtual workshops specific to those dealing with a death during COVID-19. The include:
Grief During the Time of COVID, Wednesday, March 24, from 2:30-4 p.m., via Zoom. The online workshop will explore how the pandemic has changed the way we grieve and created secondary losses, the Hospice announcement said, adding participants will discuss ways to cope, honor those who have died, and identify ways to build hope. It will run for four weeks.
Grief Following a COVID Death, Thursday, March 25, from 2:30-4 p.m. via Zoom. This four-week weekshop is for those who have had a loved one die from COVID. The grief from this loss is complicated by the many ways in which our world has changed during the pandemic. This group will allow you to express and share your grief, learn coping skills from one another, and give and receive support.
To register for either workshop, email Linda Clark, LCSW at Lclark@hospicecareinc.org by Monday March 22. Please include a phone number where you can be reached for a call back to complete your registration.
In addition to the groups and workshops above, Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, also conducts several in-person groups and workshops. When meeting in-person, group size is limited to six members with masks to be worn to protect all participants during Covid-19.
There is no charge for bereavement groups or workshops, however donations are always appreciated.
