Holy Cross plans music, student visits, plant sale

ONEIDA CASTLE — Holy Cross Academy, 4020 Barrington Hill, has announced a series of events in May. They include:

Syracuse University Brass Ensemble

The Syracuse University Brass Ensemble will appear Saturday, May 2 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 121 St. Joseph Place, in Oneida. Tickets are $10 with proceeds to benefit the Holy Cross Academy music program.

The ensemble, under the baton of Dr. James Spencer, boasts more than 40 brass players and percussionists, many of whom are doctors, lawyers and teachers by day and semi-professional musicians by night.

Also featured will be the award-winning choirs of Holy Cross Academy directed by Scott Rutledge.

Students entering grades 7-12 who are interested in attending Holy Cross Academy this fall are invited to spend the day at school on Tuesday, May 5. Call 363-1669 if planning to attend. Mother’s Day Plant Sale

Potted plants and hanging baskets will fill the tent at Holy Cross Academy’s annual Mother’s Day Plant Sale May 7-10. Hours are Thursday - Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The white tent will be in the Sangertown Mall parking lot in New Hartford and there will be a display in the center of the food court.

Holy Cross Academy Spring Concert

The music students at Holy Cross Academy will offer their Spring Concert at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oneida Wednesday, May 20, at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
