HOLLAND PATENT — Marking the recent National School Librarian Day and National Library Week, which runs through April 10, the Holland Patent school district announced “extra recognition to our wonderful librarians.”

The district said to “please join us in thanking” them for “their guidance, creativity and excitement for reading.”

Among those recognized were elementary library teacher Karen Szablewski, library media aide Debbie Hiffa, and district library media specialist Julie Horwat.

The district announcement also included a Dr. Seuss quote: “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” Held April 4 each year, National School Librarian Day recognizes the professionals who keep the school library in working order.
