ALBANY — Gov. Kathy Hochul announced her $227 billion proposed executive state budget on Wednesday, including a proposed increase in state school aid. Under Hochul’s proposal, which includes fully funding the state’s Foundation Aid to schools, one of several funds used to distribute state aid to districts, most area schools would see an increase in their overall state aid.

Hamilton Central School was the only district in the Daily Sentinel coverage area to see a proposed decrease in proposed state aid. All local schools saw an increase in Foundation Aid.

The following aid figures are listed on the state’s 2023-24 Executive Budget Proposal, which are still pending final budget approval. The deadline for state lawmakers to approve a final budget for the state’s fiscal year 2024 budget is April 1.

Oneida County

If the proposed budget is approved as it stands, Adirondack would receive $20,858,453, an increase of $741,515 or 3.69% over last year. Foundation aid is included in that aid figure, and would increase by $385,382 or 2.99%.

Camden would receive $41,319,909, an increase of $1,089,279 or 2.71% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $1,464,325 or 5.38%. They would also receive $100,000 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Clinton would receive $13,095,383, an increase of $655,905 or 5.27% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $280,628 or 3.93%.

Holland Patent would receive $20,774,618, an increase of $957,972 or 4.83% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $372,931 or 2.99%.

New Hartford would receive $23,742,382, an increase of $5,092,067 or 27.3% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $3,396,579 or 32.76%. They would also receive $363,177 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

New York Mills would receive $6,110,194, an increase of $778,388 or 14.6% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $568,886 or 18.92%. They will also receive $100,000 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Oriskany would receive $8,330,947, an increase of $145,714 or 1.78% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $153,061 or 2.99%.

Remsen would receive $7,874,677, an increase of $302,066 or 3.99% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $155,182 or 2.99%.

Rome would receive $98,565,152, an increase of $10,559,665 or 12% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $10,127,024 or 16.86%. They would also receive $979,935 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Sauquoit Valley would receive $14,813,791, an increase of $813,195 or 5.81% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $348,664 or 3.82%.

Utica would receive $216,284,332, an increase of $31,064,968 or 16.77% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $30,611,866 or 22.88%. They would also receive $3,130,779 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill would receive $24,322,984, an increase of $1,374,213 or 5.99% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $1,211,589 or 7.78%. They would also receive $100,000 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Waterville would receive $15,015,898, an increase of $2,268,223 or 17.79% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $1,754,217 or 20.54%. They would also receive $176,324 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Westmoreland would receive $13,656,135, an increase of $218,649 or 1.63% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $244,397 or 2.99%.

Whitesboro would receive $40,178,075, an increase of $3,280,397 or 8.89% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $2,207,737 or 10.44%. They would also receive $185,199 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Lewis County

Lowville would receive $23,433,517, an increase of $2,717,047 or 13.12% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $2,141,108 or 15.26%. They would also receive $202,482 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

South Lewis would receive $19,308,960, an increase of $868,734 or 4.71% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $372,062 or 3.07%.

Herkimer County

Central Valley would receive $46,398,494, an increase of $3,756,620 or 8.81% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $3,466,828 or 14.71%. They would also receive $324,857 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Dolgeville would receive $16,260,995, an increase of $2,027,677 or 14.25% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $1,587,653 or 14.9%. They would also receive $149,250 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Frankfort-Schuyler would receive $12,379,708, an increase of $203,149 or 1.67% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $233,983 or 2.99%.

Herkimer would receive $21,470,068, an increase of $3,954,901 or 22.58% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $2,916,166 or 25.41%. They would also receive $302,717 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds,a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Little Falls would receive $21,316,376, an increase of $2,892,862 or 15.7% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $2,585,152 or 21.34%. They would also receive $261,508 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Poland would receive $7,645,479, an increase of $416,583 or 5.76% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $156,295 or 2.99%.

The Town of Webb (Old Forge) would receive $1,286,427, an increase of $161,482 or 14.35% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $19,297 or 2.99%.

West Canada Valley would receive $12,642,544 in aid, an increase of $243,140 or 1.96% from last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $239,862 or 2.99%.

Madison County

Brookfield would receive $5,479,878, an increase of $490,922 or 9.84% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $472,422 or 14.69%. They would also receive $100,000 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Canastota would receive $20,286,594, an increase of $2,062,347 or 11.32% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $1,646,388 or 13.89%. They would also receive $151,938 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds,a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Hamilton would receive $5,805,252, a decrease of $471,400 or -7.51% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $109,707 or 2.99%.

Madison would receive $8,043,832, an increase of $716,727 or 9.78% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $620,185 or 12.53%. They would also receive $100,000 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.

Morrisville-Eaton would receive $12,784,979, an increase of $143,537 or 1.14% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $243,454 or 2.99%.

Oneida would receive $27,238,049, an increase of $592,564 or 2.22% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $548,712 or 2.99%.

Stockbridge Valley would receive $9,217,942, an increase of $508,118 or 5.83% over last year. That amound includes an increase in Foundation aid of $336,400 or 6.06%. They would also receive $100,000 in High-Impact Tutoring Set Aside funds, a new set of proposed funding to help schools address student learning loss during the pandemic.
