HOLLAND PATENT — Heartbeat Duo, featuring the husband and wife team of Cynthia and Peter Obernesser, will kick off the Spring 2023 Concert Season at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at Park Coffee House in Holland Patent.

Park Coffee House has been a venue for quality, live, acoustic music for more than 35 years, said event co-organizer Cynthia Baird. This spring’s series will be “a mix of the familiar and the new,” she said.

“Four groups will be returning to the Park Coffee House stage and Heartbeat Duo will be performing for the first time,” Baird noted.

Park Coffee House audiences are known to be warm and welcoming, and will sing along in harmony with the music, Baird said. She expects Heartbeat Duo, with their style of entertainment, will perform songs that the audience will really enjoy.

Likewise, Heartbeat Duo expects to enjoy performing for a brand-new audience there.

“We are looking forward to playing in this different venue for us and in its concert-style setting,” Peter Obernesser said.

“We’ll try to do three or four of our originals plus a wide variety of cover songs.”

The couple will be taking requests, he added, with their repertoire including rock, pop and country songs from the 1960s to the present.

The rest of the series, featuring musicians who have performed locally, regionally and nationally, includes:

April 1: The Cadleys

April 22: Nick Piccininni and Joe Davoli

May 6: Jamcrackers

May 20: John Kirk and Trish Miller

June 3: Local Favorites

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the shows start at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is $12, $10 for Local Favorites. Student admission is $5 and children 12 and younger are free.

There are homemade desserts, coffee, tea, cider and cocoa available for a donation before the performance and during the intermission.

Proceeds benefit the local food pantry operated by Foothills Rural Community Ministry, the parent organization of Park Coffee House.

Park Coffee House is just off Main Street and across from the park at the Twin Churches.
