America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk, and Heart Weekend at Utica College will be held Friday and Saturday, March 2 and 3.
Participants may register online at www.uticaheartrunwalk.org, or visit one of several options for pre-registration sites, including the Rome Run & Indoor Walk and Pre-Registration event to be held from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Rome Free Academy.
Two Red Cap Ambassadors will be featured this year – Sammy Paquette and the Benham family, Roy and Grace Benham.
The Rome Run & Indoor Walk and Pre-Registration features a heart healthy walk indoors and out of the cold. Runners will have the option to participate in an outdoor 5K as well.
Throughout the morning, Sydney’s Circle will have music, entertainment, and activities, as well as a vendor expo featuring health education.

Registration is also available at Utica College during Heart Weekend on March 2 and 3. America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk bring thousands of people together to raise funds and awareness for the fight against heart disease and stroke.

Runners, walkers, and Expo visitors will see a few changes at this year’s America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk.
Heart Weekend is coming up on Friday, March 2 and 3 at Utica College.
Parking for the Healthy For Good Expo on Friday, March 2 will be available at one location. Expo participants should park at the American Heart Association office at 125 Business Park Drive in Utica. Free shuttle buses will be available throughout the expo, which runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Registration for the Kids Heart Challenge obstacle course, sponsored by AmeriCU Credit Union, will be available online or at the challenge. The Kids Heart Challenge will be held at Valley Gymnastics after the Expo at 7 p.m. Parents can register their children ahead of time at www.UticaHeartRunWalk.org, or at Valley Gymnastics at 6:30 p.m.
Shuttle bus routes will be streamlined on Saturday, March 3. Parking will be available at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and the American Heart Association in the Utica Business Park, as well as Utica National Insurance Group and National Grid. Parking will no longer be available at Sangertown Square.
The 10-mile run is back this year. The run will start at the corner of Route 291 and Irish Road in Stittville, as it has in the past.
The WIBX Heart Radiothon, sponsored by Slocum-Dickson Medical Group, P.L.L.C.; WKTV Heart Telethon, sponsored by UFCW Local One; 30K run; three-and-five-mile runs; and the three-and-five-mile walks will return as usual.
