Hat and mitten drive underway in Madison County
The Madison County Rural Health Council is looking for help this November to bring warmth and comfort to children and adults in need this month as it conducts its second annual hat and mitten drive.
“We started our hat and mitten drive to support Madison County families in our rural community during the cold winter months,” said Christine Paul, executive director of the Madison County Rural Health Council. “Last year, we were amazed by the generosity of community members donating both brand new and handmade hats, mittens and scarves. We were able to provide the donations to local service organizations and also make direct donations to community members in need.”
Throughout the month, people can find donation bins at various locations throughout Madison County at the following organizations and sites:
- Cazenovia Community Fitness: 4157 Midstate Lane;
- DeRuyter Free Library: 735 Utica St.;
- Hamilton Public Library: 13 Broad St., Hamilton;
- Morrisville Public Library: 84 E. Main St.;
- Sullivan Free Library: 101 Falls Blvd, Chittenango;
- Oneida Public Library: 459 Main St.
If you would like to donate, stop by any of the locations listed above during their normal business hours to drop off your donation in the designated bin by Dec. 2.
For questions, contact Stephanie at the Madison County Rural Health Council at 315-313-4399 or henry.s@mcruralhealthcouncil.org.
