FORESTPORT — Harry E. Worthington, 95, passed away peacefully at home on May 9, 2022.

He was born in Utica, NY, on August 21, 1926, to the late Henry and Edith Worthington. He grew up mostly in Schenectady, NY, and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. He was a 1944 graduate of SUNY Cobleskill and a veteran of WWII.

In 1952 he married Marion Kowalchik and they began their life in Schenectady. He worked at several jobs including dairy farming and as a Surge milking equipment distributor. He retired from the NYS Senate, where he spent 20 years, helping maintain the State Capitol building in Albany.

Harry and Marion lived outside of Altamont, NY, until 1995. They followed their love of snowmobiling and moved to Forestport, NY, on Snowbird Lake. Harry enjoyed traveling, camping, cutting his firewood, rebuilding canoes, and enjoying the great outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marion at Lewis County Residential Health, his daughter and son-in-law Mary and David Clements of Syracuse, NY, his sister Vida Brehm, of Groveland, NY, his grandsons, David Clements Jr. of Castleton, NY and Scott Clements (Lyn) of Dalton, Mass. As well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc. 143 Schuyler St. Boonville, where a service will commence at 4 p.m. Burial at a later date will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, New York.
