Harold C. Little


Reverend Harold C. Little died Sunday February 4, 2018 in Johnstown, NY. He was the son of the late John F. and Sarah (Jelliff) Little. He grew up in Horseheads and Elmira, NY.

Harold was a graduate of Houghton College and an ordained Wesleyan minister who served as pastor of the Wesleyan Church in Herrickville, PA and other churches in Bradford County, PA. He married Joan (Drake) Little and celebrated 56 years of marriage with her before she passed away. He was an active member of the Rome Wesleyan Church where he served as Minister of Music leading music in the services and directing the choir.

Harold served actively on the boards of Sacandaga Bible Conference and Rome-Utica Youth for Christ. He founded and directed The Living Hope Singers, a group of students that toured regionally, providing concerts of Gospel choral music.

Harold also had a career with the NYS Department of Labor serving in their offices in Rome and Utica.

Harold is survived by his children Becky (Dick) Canuteson, John (Diane) Little and Phil Little. His surviving grandchildren are Debra (Jason) Proefrock, Dave Palmieri Jr., Jonathan Little, and James Little. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Paige and Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Ethel Kent, his faithful friend for these past 10 years. Harold was predeceased by his brothers Cliff and Elbridge and by his sister Lois.

Services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, 418 N. George St., Rome, NY on Saturday March 10, 2018. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
