Happy ending to cat’s travels

We don’t know how many of his nine lives Buddy the cat used up during his wintry wanderings away from home. However many, he’s back home now safe and sound thanks to a Laurel Street couple.

Some months ago Larry Ehlinger and his wife Patty, who live on Laurel Street, noticed a strange cat who visited their home, especially fond of a warm Plexiglas house Ehlinger built for one of his pet cats. Patty posted a photo of the stray on Lost & Found Pets in Rome (on Facebook) on Feb. 21 and then received a message from Benji (Pedroza’s) friend, Tiffany, who fosters cats through Clinton Pet Vet owned by Dr. Jessica Price. She was sure the cat was Benji’s pet, Buddy. Pedroza explained that Buddy actually belongs to a friend and their family, and while caring for him, the cat somehow escaped from his home.

Eventually, the cat was safely trapped; and the owner and the traveling feline were reunited, and everyone celebrated the happy ending.
