Hamilton's Lane and Moore are women's lacrosse all-region team honorees
Hamilton College defenders Meghan Lane, a junior, and Sarah Moore, a senior, have been selected for the 2023 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III All-Region Team.
Lane was placed on the first team in the Berkshire Region for the second straight year and is an all-region honoree all three seasons at Hamilton. Moore, who is on the all-region team for the first time, made the second team. They are two of 32 athletes recognized in the Berkshire Region.
Both players were selected for the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Team earlier this May.
Lane is tied for 49th in NCAA Division III in caused turnovers per game. She topped the Continentals with 64 draws, 41 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers this season. Lane started all 14 games she played in and scored three goals.
Moore ended up second to Lane on the team with 28 caused turnovers and was fourth with 26 ground balls. Moore started all 15 games for Hamilton and was credited with two assists. She finished her 41-game career with 60 ground balls, 54 caused turnovers, 24 draw controls and 11 points on five goals and six assists.
Thanks in part to Lane and Moore, the Continentals are 65th nationally in caused turnovers per game as a team. Hamilton finished 2023 with an overall record of 5-10, including a non-conference win against then-nationally ranked No. 22 Ithaca College in the season finale.
