Hamilton College women's lacrosse defenders are all-NESCAC team selections

Hamilton College junior Meghan Lane and senior Sarah Moore have been selected for the 2023 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's lacrosse all-conference team.

Lane was voted to the first team on defense after being on the second team in 2021 and 2022. Moore was placed on the second team as a defender and is an all-NESCAC team honoree for the first time. They are two of 30 athletes on the all-conference squad.

Lane leads the NESCAC in ground balls and caused turnovers per game and is seventh in draw controls per contest. She topped the Continentals with 64 draws, 41 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers this season. Lane started all 14 games she played in and scored three goals.

Moore is fourth in the conference in caused turnovers per game and 16th in ground balls per contest. She ended up second to Lane on the team with 28 caused turnovers and ended up fourth with 26 ground balls. Moore started all 15 games for Hamilton and was credited with two assists. She finished her 41-game career with 60 ground balls, 54 caused turnovers, 24 draw controls and 11 points on five goals and six assists.

Thanks in part to Lane and Moore, the Continentals are second in the NESCAC in caused turnovers per game and third in ground balls per game as a team. Hamilton finished 2023 with an overall record of 5-10, including a non-conference win against then-nationally ranked No. 22 Ithaca College in the season finale.
