Hamilton College suffers setback to Williams


The Hamilton College football team dropped to 2-3 on the season after a 35-7 loss to visiting Williams on Saturday.

Kamau Hopewell capped off a 12-play, 75-yard touchdown drive with a three-yard run in the fourth quarter for the only score of the game for the Continentals.

He was the leading rusher for Hamilton College, running 10 times for 77 yards and the score and he was the leading receiver with two catches for 20 yards.

George Johnson was the leading tackler for Hamilton, making 13 total tackles, two solo and 11 assists.

UC falls to Brockport

In Empire 8 football action, Utica College lost to host SUNY Brockport 26-14 on Saturday night, bringing their record to 4-2 on the year.

Vernon-Verona-Sherrill grad and UC senior Nate Palmer caught an 11-yard touchdown pass for the Pioneers from quarterback Sonny Badyna. Palmer finished with three catches for 15 yards and the score.

Badyna scored the second UC touchdown on a two-yard run.

He was 11-of-30 through the air for 136 yards with the touchdown pass to Palmer and he was intercepted three times.

Lamont Mcgriff was the leading rusher for the Pioneers, running 13 times for 37 yards.

Kwasi Addo was the leading tackler for UC, making 11 solo tackles and assisting on four more.
