Hall of Famers to take part in Legends Game in Cooperstown

COOPERSTOWN — Baseball Hall of Famers Rollie Fingers, Goose Gossage, Randy Johnson, Phil Niekro, Tim Raines and Ozzie Smith are all expected to be on hand for the Hall of Fame Classic on May 26.

Joining the six Hall of Famers will be representatives from all 30 Major League Baseball teams for the Hall of Fame Classic’s seven-inning Legends Game at Doubleday Field.

Players committed to attend the game are Clint Barmes, Rockies, Michael Barrett, Nationals, Larry Bigbie, Orioles, Geoff Blum, Astros, Tim Crabtree, Rangers, Chris Gomez, Padres, Kevin Gross, Dodgers, Jeremy Guthrie, Royals, Adam Kennedy, Angels, Sam LaCure, Reds, Terrence Long, Athletics, and John McDonald, Indians.

Also expected to attend are Craig Monroe, Tigers, Augie Ojeda, Diamondbacks, Juan Pierre, Marlins, A.J. Pierzynski, White Sox, Nick Punto, Twins, Kerry Robinson, Cardinals, Ryan Rowland-Smith, Mariners, Andy Sonnanstine, Rays, Shane Victorino, Phillies, Jack Wilson, Pirates, Steve Woodard, Brewers, and Todd Zeile, Mets.

Tickets for the Hall of Fame Classic are on sale by phone at 877-726-9028 or onine at www.baseballhall.org and are $12.50 for first and third base seats and $11 for general admission outfield seats.

The Classic, now in its 10th year, will have a pre-game home run derby at noon followed by first pitch at 1:05 p.m.

Nierko and Smith return as managers for the game while Fingers, Gossage, Johnson and Raines will serve as coaches.

The Hall of Fame Classic has a weekend of family entertainment programs designed to celebrate the timeless connection of baseball across generations.
