A 21-year-old man has been charged with multiple felonies in Herkimer County following gunfire in the village, according to the Ilion Police Department.

Gunfire and reckless endangerment charged in Ilion
ILION — A 21-year-old man has been charged with multiple felonies in Herkimer County following gunfire in the village, according to the Ilion Police Department.
Police said there was a shots fired incident in the village on Nov. 7. No one was injured. Following an investigation, police said they identified Donnie R. Birdine III, 21, of Route 51, Ilion, as the gunman.
Birdine is charged with one count each of first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm, all felonies, police said. He is scheduled to appear in Ilion Village Court.
