Growing up healthy education class Tuesday

Join the Central New York Diabetes Education Program on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the CNY Diabetes Education Program office located on the 4th floor of the Faxton Campus, 1676 Sunset Avenue, Utica, for the Growing Up Healthy Education Program.

In this session, participants ages 5 through 18 and their families, will learn how to stay active with help from MVHS certified fitness professional and wellness coach, Colleen Thieme.

The number of children with prediabetes and diabetes is growing. Children and teens may be able to prevent Type 2 diabetes or delay the onset of diabetes for many years with some simple lifestyle changes. Even small changes can result in big rewards. Getting the whole family involved is the best approach. After all, well-balanced meals and exercise for diabetes prevention makes a healthier lifestyle for everyone.
