Great Swamp Conservancy to host art event for children

CANASTOTA — The Great Swamp Conservancy, 8375 N. Main St., will host a paint and juice-sip event where children ages 5-12 will be taught to make their own nature painting from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18.

The program will start with an introduction about the specific animal they will be painting by Conservation Educator Brianne Wilcox. They will then join talented artist Theresa as she teaches everyone how to paint an animal of the Great Swamp Conservancy.

The Art Honor students of Canastota volunteer to help out with the program. All materials are included with snacks provided and juice for $10 per child. Parents may paint along with their child if desired for a $10 fee.

Reserve a spot by calling 315-697-2950 or email:

Class space is limited. All proceeds will benefit the GSC’s conservation efforts.
