CANASTOTA — The Great Swamp Conservancy will hold its First Day Hike on Sunday, Jan. 1 at 10 a.m..

People are invited to ring in the New Year and enjoy the beauty of winter while exploring the Great Swamp Conservancy trails.

This hike will be around three to four miles long and view the Great Blue Heron Rookery and Hardwood trail.

Attendees are asked to meet in the office building and to dress appropriately for the weather. The event will be canceled in the case of rain.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Great Swamp Conservancy is located at 8375 North Main Street in Canastota.
