NEW HARTFORD – GPO Federal Credit Union has donated $2,500 toward the COVID-19 Response Fund at Mohawk Valley Health System.

The fund supports supplies like various types of masks, shields, gloves, gowns, goggles and other forms of personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure that health care workers at MVHS have the personal protective gear needed to protect themselves and others, as they care for the local community throughout COVID-19.

“The virus has made an impact on our community and health care system, and the needs are changing every day,” said Nick Mayhew, GPO president and CEO.

“From our hospitals and outpatient centers to drive-thru testing sites, our health care teams are on the front lines of this pandemic. Donations like these are the most powerful tool in confronting any challenge facing medicine and the health of MVHS patients and caregivers,” the GPO president added.

GPO was founded in 1931 and today serves more than 32,000 members. Headquartered in New Hartford, GPO operates branches in New Hartford, Downtown Utica, South Utica, Barneveld, Ilion, Oneida and Dolgeville.
