GPO announces checking account, workshop for teens

NEW HARTFORD — GPO Federal Credit Union has partnered with the National Credit Union Association to tell young members that their dreams are attainable, no matter how big they are, during National Credit Union Youth Month in April.

As part of this effort, GPO has introduced a teen checking account, available to young members between the ages of 13 to 17 years old with an adult joint-owner.

Another way, the GPO announcement said, by attending the Money & Me Teen Workshop on Tuesday, April 26.

This hands-on workshop will help teens understand the importance of financial goal setting, ways to manage personal spending plans, learn the importance of knowing your credit score and how to build and manage credit, the GPO announcement said.
