Golf event to raise funds for MMRI
UTICA — The Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI), a non-profit research facility in Utica focused on identifying and understanding causes of disease, invites golfers and sponsors to its first annual MMRI Golf Classic fundraising event on Monday, Aug. 28, at the Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford.
Funds raised will benefit medical research projects on heart disease, autism and lupus, and will support the continued growth and expansion of the institute.
“Our scientists are looking forward to challenging golfers in the Mohawk Valley. This will be a spectacular event for a fabulous cause,” said MMRI Development Director Stephen F. Izzo. “We’re fortunate to have the MMRI Golf Classic at Yahnundasis — their course is gorgeous and challenging!”
MMRI, at 2150 Bleecker St., has a remarkable history and has made profound advances in medical science, including helping in the development of the defibrillator and pacemaker, devices that have saved millions of lives to date.
Today, MMRI is continuing in its pursuit of medical discoveries and cutting-edge projects that require community support and funding.
The MMRI Golf Classic offers participants a memorable full-day event, with driving range practice, a shotgun start, an 18-hole course, gifts, raffles, a cocktail hour, drinks, lunch and dinner and the chance to golf with leading scientists. Golfers can register online at mmri.edu/golf.
Sponsorship opportunities are available now, and community and business leaders are invited to consider one of several possible sponsorship levels. Sponsorship packages include perks such as brand promotion, recognition, complimentary dinner and gameplay, banner displays, tee signs and more. For questions or sponsorships, contact MMRI Development Director Stephen F. Izzo at 908-477-7966 or email stephenizzo@mmri.edu.
