Go Red for Women Luncheon Wednesday

WHITESBORO — The American Heart Association is inviting women to reclaim their rhythm as the Go Red for Women Luncheon returns in-person from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Hart’s Hill Inn, 135 Clinton St.

The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and masks are required.

Jackie Bennati Snizek, who survived a heart attack in September 2020, will share her story. Snizek, a school counselor, lost her sister Sarah a year later to a spontaneous coronary artery dissection.

Dr. Dumisa Adams, an obstetrician and medical director of The Women’s Health Center at Mohawk Valley Health System, will give the keynote address about maternal health and heart disease.

Jessica Aponte of Ford Direct, and Morgan Roller of Indium Corporation, have been the 2022 Women of Impact, devoting their time to raise awareness and funds for the Go Red for Women movement.

The program will also provide information about American Heart Association activities in the Mohawk Valley and about heart and brain health, specifically about heart health in women. Funds raised will help the American Heart Association invest in research and programs about women’s heart health.

Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death for women, surpassing the eight leading causes of cancer combined.

Tickets are $100. For information or to reserve a seat, visit UticaGoREd.heart.org or contact Marianne.Hagadorn@heart.org.
