CLINTON — Half a million young people will be served this October through The John Maxwell Team Global Youth Initiative, with a series of events being held worldwide in large cities and small villages internationally, including
The John Maxwell Team Global Youth Initiative is an international movement comprised of hundreds of free community events with topics ranging from leadership development, to anti-bullying, self-esteem and more to help the youth in communities around the world thrive.
Maria Maier of Clinton and Hanka Grabovica of Utica, both certified speakers, trainers, and coaches for Central New York, set up a goal to reach the youth in their community, and teach them that it’s never too early to become a great leader now.
Maier and Grabovica are both mothers who said they are passionate about youth development and success. The goal is to reach out to youth twice a year — in April and October to double the number of youth reached globally with other John Maxwell team members all over the world that are joining hands in doing that.
During this two-day event for different youth age groups, Maier and Grabovica will facilitate engaging discussions on four main topics such as positive self-image and good character, how to stand up, build and value others. Older children will also have an opportunity to identify their key individual strengths, areas for personal growth, and examples of career paths that utilize their strengths.
What made both Maier and Grabovica get involved with such a cause? They both believe in what Maxwell does, after all he is noted as a leadership guru. He values youth. The global youth initiative caught their attention because both women always worked with the youth and are very passionate and they believe that every young person matters.
