Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy announces promotions, product line expansions


NEW HARTFORD — Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy has promoted Rosanna Linder to the firm’s new position of accounting manager. In this role, Linder will perform all accounting functions and oversee all financial deliverables within the agency. 

Linder joined the agency in 2009 as an accounting assistant. She is a graduate of SUNY Institute of Technology where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She currently resides in New Hartford.

Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy (GKG) has also expanded both its Commercial Lines and Employee Benefits departments to include new team leadership positions. MaryCarol Evans has been promoted to Manager of Client Solutions within the Employee Benefits department. Jon Schloop has been promoted to the same position within the Commercial Lines department.

In this new role, Evans and Schloop will lead team members in developing and implementing strategic plans for GKG’s largest clients. Further, both will focus on development opportunities to promote GKG’s continued growth.

Evans brings over 10 years of experience as a benefits specialist. She holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designations. In the community, she volunteers at the Presbyterian Home in New Hartford, NY. 

Schloop brings over 30 years of industry experience. He holds a range of designations including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) from the American Institute for CPCU: Associate in Underwriting (AU), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) and Associate in Management (AIM) from the Insurance Institute of America; and Associate in Customer Service (ACS) from LOMA.
