Genesis Group to recognize host of area educators

WHITESBORO — The Genesis Group will hold its 16th annual Celebration of Education by honoring several Outstanding Educators and Programs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, at Hart’s Hill Inn, 135 Clinton St.
The Genesis Group has announced its Class of 2022 Hall of Distinction Inductees will include:
- Martha Group,
- Michael Deuel,
- Kenneth Ford, and
- Mary Ann Carroll.
The Class of 2022 Distinguished Service Honorees include:
- John Salerno,
- Suzanne Carvelli,
- Alane Varga, and
- Russell Stewart .
Outstanding educators to be honored include:
- Kelly Armstrong, Upstate Cerebral Palsy;
- Gina Buono, Utica City School District;
- Kane Calabro, Madison-Oneida BOCES;
- Danielle Del Giudice, Mohawk Valley Community College;
- Colin Douglass, Oneida BOCES;
- Deborah Finn, Holland Patent Central School District;
- Carrie Hodkinson, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School District;
- Wayne Inglis, Sauquoit Valley Central School District;
- Scott Jackson, Mohawk Valley Community College
- Dr. Karen Jones, Herkimer College;
- Mary Kline, Herkimer BOCES;
- Michelle Komacek, Utica City School District;
- Kimberly Newton, Whitesboro Central School District;
- Michael Spost, Whitesboro Central School District;
- Justine Testa, Notre Dame Elementary School;
- Carrie Thomas, Utica City School District;

Outstanding programs to be recognized include:
- B.S. in Interactive Media & Game Design, SUNY Polytechnic Institute;
- Early Childhood Program, Rome City School District;
- Morrisville-Eaton Clothes Closet, Morrisville-Eaton Central School District;
- Special Education Summer School, Camden Central School District;
- The General’s Cupboard, Herkimer College; and
- Work Study/Base Program, Madison BOCES and Upstate Cerebral Palsy.
