This year marks the 123rd National Audobon Socitety's Christmas Bird Count. Audubon’s CBC is one of the longest-running wildlife censuses in the world. Why is it important to have a bird count?

The data collected will show bird population trends that helps with conservation efforts. This year the count takes place between Wednesday, Dec. 14, and Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023. Locally a dedicated group of birders will be out counting Sunday, December 18.
