Fusion Gallery hosts ‘History through Art’ exhibit

During the month of July, Rome Art Association is hosting a collaborative show with the Rome Historical Society called, “History through Art,” at The Photo Shoppe/Fusion Gallery, 8584 Turin Road.

The exhibit is on display now through July 30. There will be an opening reception from 5-7 p.m. Friday.

The mission of this show is for local artists to celebrate Rome’s rich history through their own artistic expression, and was conceptualized by RAA Past President Kristie Boisen and RHS President Michael Colangelo.

The artists gained inspiration to create when they were invited by RHS to look through their collection. These references were then used to assist the artists in creating a wide variety of artwork. The ultimate goal of the collaborative show between two local organizations is for the public and everyone involved to have a greater respect for the history that the community shares.

Rome Historical Society is located at 200 Church St. and is a non-profit organization.
