Fund helps support nearly two dozen North Country organizations

UTICA — The Adirondack League Club Community Fund at the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties has awarded more than $118,000 to support more than 20 area nonprofits in the third quarter of 2022, according to an announcement by foundation officials. 

Recipients received grants ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 to support a wide range of programs and services, the announcement said.

Among those agencies or organizations to receive funding are:

  • Adirondack Experience;
  • Adirondack Foothills Trails Alliance;
  • Big Moose Fire Company;
  • Dodge Pratt Northam Art & Community Center;
  • Forestport Fire Department;
  • Friends of the Polar Bears;
  • Fulton Chain of Lakes Performing Arts Council;
  • Home Aide Service of the Central Adirondacks;
  • Inlet Area Community Task Force;
  • Inlet Volunteer Emergency Services;
  • Kiwanis Club Foundation of Central Adirondacks;
  • LivingADK;
  • Mercy Flight Central;
  • Niccolls Memorial Presbyterian Church;
  • North Country Life Flight;
  • Old Forge Library;
  • Old Forge Volunteer Ambulance Corps;
  • Old Forge Volunteer Fire Department;
  • Sagamore Institute;
  • The Kinderwood Program;
  • Town of Webb Health Center Fund;
  • Town of Webb Historical Association;
  • View; and
  • The Woodgate Free Library.

“The support from Adirondack League Club to active nonprofits in our two-county community will help strengthen them and take their success to the next level,” said Alicia Dicks, president/CEO of the Community Foundation.

“The grants encourage nonprofits to continue the important work they do and meet the needs of those they serve,” Dicks added.
