Organizers of the 32nd annual FrogFest have announced that the popular yearly event has been canceled for 2020 because of COVID-19 concerns.
The event had been originally scheduled for May 31 and then postponed until September 19, however, organizers said the uncertainty surrounding the evolving public health threat, made it impractical to host the event.
“This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the event does not contribute to the spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such a large event given ongoing guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials,” said an announcement by Townsquare Media Utica. “We take the safety and health of our guests, staff, and community very seriously — it is our number one priority.”
FrogFest’s Event Management will contact those who have purchased tickets and their purchase will be fully refunded, the announcement said.
If tickets were purchased online, they will be automatically refunded and there is no further action needed. If pre-sale tickets were purchased at White’s Farm Supply, tickets must be exchanged at the Townsquare Media offices, 9418 River Road in Marcy, by August 14, to receive the refund. Refunds will be issued Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is required that all visitors wear masks when inside the office.
