An FPB original tune, Fred’s Polka — the last song written by original member, the late Fred Scherz Sr. — is nominated in the “New, Original Song” category. Meanwhile, the band’s namesake, Fritz Scherz, an accordionist/vocalist, has been nominated in the “Musician of the Year” and “Button-Box: Artist or Duo” categories.
The winners will be announced during the CSPHOF Awards Show on Saturday, November 30, at the Cleveland Downtown Marriott Hotel as part of the annual Thanksgiving Polka Weekend.
“The guys in my band look forward to performing on November 29 and 30 at the Thanksgiving Polka Weekend in Cleveland for the third year in a row as we always have a fabulous time there,” said Fritz Scherz. “It’s a special honor to be nominated for multiple national awards again. To think we get to play twice that weekend and attend the awards show as nominees is an awesome feeling! Many thanks to all the CSPHOF members who helped us get nominated! We encourage our friends to join the CSPHOF right away and vote for us!”
