The Rome Community Foundation and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties are teaming up to provide a free presentation geared for the staff, volunteers and board members of Rome area nonprofit organizations, the organizations have announced.
The presentation, entitled “Building a Major Gifts Oriented Culture of Philanthropy at Your Organization” will take place on Thursday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Dining & Community Hall at MVCC Rome Campus.
The presenter will be Mike Stein a partner in Constellation advancement and, according to event organizers, a well-known area fundraising and development professional.
There is no charge for the presentation and light refreshments will be served. Reservations can be made by emailing VFariello@romecommunityfoundation.org or by calling 315-356-4739.
The event is part of the Rome Community Foundation’s 20th anniversary activities.
Founded in 1999, the Foundation accepts grant requests for capital projects from organizations in Rome and towns contiguous to Rome. Grants are awarded on a quarterly basis.
David Grow is president of the Foundation. Other officers are Lynn Rosen and David Engelbert, vice-presidents; Julie Grow Denton, secretary; and Robert Ritz, treasurer. Victor Fariello is executive director.
