OLD FORGE — Those looking for a fun activity for their kids before they head off to school or have a child who loves to sketch and draw are invited to join the Center for Arts and Culture in Old Forge, for a free Plein Air Paint Out class on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

There will be two different time slots for the class: 9 to 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

View is looking for kids who love art and want to have fun painting outside in the Center’s backyard under the big tent.

Children in grades first through sixth are invited to come paint as part of the 13th annual Plein Air Paint Out that begins Sept 1st and culminates with a big auction on Sept. 3.

Both workshops will be taught by Diane Davis and Doug Davis, who are experienced watercolor painters and members of the Mountain Air Painters of Old Forge. In addition to completing a painting, each child will take home a pencil and sketchbook, courtesy of The Art Store, located on Erie Boulevard in Syracuse.

“We are very appreciative of the Art Store team, for supplying all the materials for these painting workshops for our young art enthusiasts,” Center officials said.

Sessions are free, but space is limited to 12 kids each. Register early at ViewArts.org/workshops or call 315-369-6411 ext. 212 to secure a spot.

View is located at 3273 State Route 28 Old Forge. Visit ViewArts.org or call 315-369-6411 for more information.
